About Manolo
September 2, 2009 at 11:13 am | In Cute | 3 CommentsHello all. I want to let all of Manolo’s fans know that yes, Monolo has gone to sleep forever on August 31, 2009 :’(
I’m working up some strength to make a little memorial for him and post it on the blog. I do get the sads when I look at his pictures and video…and his little things! His wheel and.. well you get the idea.
Manolo left this world peacefully. He was found in the afternoon under his wood bridge. He appeared to be asleep, lying down on his side, his ears tucked back. He didn’t appear to have agonized or anything. He look calm. He just went to sleep.
I never knew his exact birth date but he came to live with me at around 4 months of age. I would guess he lived 2 1/2 years. I will never know for sure. He died of old age. In the later months he began losing hair on his ears and his ankles. His body hair didn’t seem as bright and fluffy as when he was young. However, he never lost his stamina! He was still playing around and climbing and he loved to eat his veggies and his treats.
Manolo will always be very special to me. He was sweet and kind. He was playful and curious, never picky! He tried everything new to him and he wasn’t afraid. He loved the camera! It’s almost like he knew that taking his picture was a compliment to him. He posed for pictures! He loved it.
Manolito was my friend. He made me feel happy to have his company. I know he also lived happy with me. I could tell by the many times he lied down and stared around the room and watched what we were doing. He is the sweetest and cutest hamster EVER!
His little body was wrapped in soft bright white tissues and placed in a small corner in a garden where he will be claimed back by nature.
I’m not going to take down Manolo’s pictures from the blog, after all he was loved by many around the world. He inspired many people to get robo hamsters of their own to love. This is Manolo’s blog and it will always be. Hopefully things will come around and I can pick it up again. Manolo’s passing only makes it a bit more difficult.
I love you Manolo! :’(

Remember the Roomba Cat? Now there’s the Roomba Baby. He’s so cute
but I think his chubby baby-ness brakes the vacuum at the end! Not to worry cuz unlike the Roomba Kitty, this baby has human intelligence to allow him to press the buttons and attempt to fix it. ha-ha

Happy New Year 2009!!!!
December 31, 2008 at 1:13 pm | In Cute | 2 CommentsTags: 2009, life, new year
This year has been packed with events, good, bad and ugly ones. We can all agree on one thing: 2008 is a year we will never forget. As we move on into a new time, let’s all have the same hope that we as a human race will make the best of everything. We are leaders in the world and the planet and all the inhabitants in it depend on us. From the tiny hamster to the enormous whales, they all depend on us to survive. I guess we humans learn more from experience than anything and we had to live this year to realize that we can’t go on living like we were: in excess, in greed, abusing resources, killing animal species, in war…
Thanks to all you guys who visited this blog during this year. I received an incredible amount of visitors this year. You bombarded my visitor map. Thank you! Gracias! Danke! Merci! Grazie! Dank U! etc.
Happy New Year 2009. May it bring you peace, prosperity, hope and happiness.
